Outdoor kitchen and seat walls

The brief was simple: cook outside without carrying everything in and out. The island is built in the same block as the patio walls, capped in granite, with the grill dropped into the counter and cabinet doors underneath for the gas and the tools.

It sits at the end of a paver patio with a low seat wall running around the open side, so the cooking end and the sitting end are one space rather than two. The lawn was brought back up to the patio edge once the work was finished.
