Paver patio and fire pit

This one is built around the fire pit. The patio is laid in a running bond that turns at the border course, the fire pit sits in matching block with a cut stone cap, and the whole terrace is held by seat walls that double as the retaining wall for the bank behind it.

Steps in natural stone bring you down from the drive, and the beds either side were planted and mulched in the same visit so nothing was left looking like a building site. Everything is on a compacted base with drainage behind the walls, which is the part nobody sees and the reason it stays flat.
